  1. My hard drive fell down, now every time I plug it to my system the light indicates that it plugged in but the drive isn't showing on my system. what should I do.

  2. Awesome drive, used 2TB capacity of this model! My one gripe was the USB 3.0 micro b connection if connected a lot wears down quite a bit after several years it’s still working but it takes a minute or two for the drive to recognize because of the micro b connection into the drive is barely holding on. I baby it now thankfully got important files off already. Glad we got past the micro b already too. Just found the newer version of this in 4TB with a metal casing and it’s been great. It’s USB-C and comes with a USB-C cable and the USB-C to USB-A adapter for those who have both or haven’t upgraded to USB-C yet!

  3. I own two. One is the original 256 gb and its lasted for over ten years. The other I bought is the passport ultra 3 tb drive. None have died or crashed. I don't leave them plugged into the computer all the time. Just to update or back up pictures, documents, video and music.

  4. All is good…..I was Happy when i bought. But now I hate this..once i forgot the password its doesnt me to allowd for any recocery except erase data…I have store too much important data on it . Most IMP Data is my daughter's total 8 years pics, images and videos inside for 400GB…which father wants to loose tht data…I want to recover my password and my data..

  5. Will this drive last for a lifetime? I am having trouble finding the "best" or most recommended external hard drives. Are there any brands that you would recommend? Any specific order from best to worst?

  6. hi I want to buy a great hard drive to download movies and tv shows because there is no more space in my laptop
the wd my passport ultra 1TB
would recommend to me ? is it great light weight ,easy to use?
I saw some people says it's not great stay away from WD hard drive is that true
my dad have the Toshiba 1TB and he says it's grate but is old im sure there something new and great

    please help me ?????

  7. it work fine with 2 movies when connected to my roku 3. after like 6 movies roku will not recognize it any ideas?? a memory stick does work on my roku 3 the ultra wd passports does work on my tv

  8. how relevant is your computers operating system in terms of downloading the hard drives software it and/or the functionality of the Hard Drive itself for example?? Does it matter if i use windows 10 or on googles chrome OS to use it???

  9. Hey bro so I got one from my ex if I use it it says im sharing my computer can they hack through it can someone see what im doing?

  10. excuse me , may i ask you something? does this HDD compatible with windows 10? i want to buy it but still in doubt. anyone please answer me. thank you 🙂

  11. Just bought this today and installed it just fine, but it seems I have to buy the pro version to port/ backup specific files? Is that right? Right now it's only giving me the option to copy my entire computer (about 10 hours) and says that pro is the only way I can move/backup certain files is to buy the pro version.

I appreciate any and all help.

  12. How come my computer folder does display the hard drive so that I can transfer files? Does it really work with XP?

  13. can I but this bc i need more storage, idk how to put a internal hard rive in, so can I buy 1tb of these and help my other hard drive so i have more space? Basically i'm saying can I use this as another hard drive

  14. I thank you for this video. Basically I just want to know how to download stuff.
I 1st did a FORMAT and did it in quick mode and it was successful and now i'm downloading stuff am I ok now? BTW- I have the 1TB model. I noticed that there is speed in downloading items to the ULTRA drive. Piece of advice to you and everyone- When you 1st get your drive go to MY COMPUTER and locate your ULTRA drive and rename it and call it ULTRA or anything else that uniquely identifies your external drive so in the future if you need to go to MY COMPUTER, the drive will show up with your custom name and you'll be able to instantly identify your drive. This is so when you do go to MY COMPUTER you usually have a bunch of different letter drives F drive G drive, don't you want to know which is which? if you do what I mentioned you'll always know instantly which is your drive.

  15. piece of crap…everyone is having problems with the drive not been recognized on the computer and theirs no solution from WD yet…for years now

  16. So I called WD and they said the WD Ultra, while not stated in the specs, does support Windows 10.  But the drive has to be formatted for it.  Has anyone done this and would provide the steps?
